Cascade Bedroll and Pack-Lite Bedroll

sleepunderstars

For those of you eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new lower cost bedrolls, we sorry to say that now we are not expecting the Cascade and the Pack-Lite Bedrolls to be available until early 2010.

We want to get it right first, then fast second.

We will withhold the price increases on The Original Oregon Bedroll, and try to offer the best deals we can come this Xmas season to make it up to the loyal few, waiting for our new products.

The blurb:

The ‘high-value / low cost’ Cascade Bedroll(tm) and it’s smaller companion, the Pack-Lite Bedroll ™ has the same high-quality Therm-a-Rest(tm) self inflating mattresses and a bag that doubles as a pillow like the Original Oregon Bedroll.

The Pack-Lite Bedroll is much smaller than the big Cascade Bedroll and the Oregon Bedroll. The Pack-Lite is only 21″ wide by 6′2″ tall, and rolls up much smaller than the other Oregon Bedrolls.

The Cascade Bedroll is going to be big like the Original Oregon Bedroll, 26″ wide by 6′5″ tall, and with our most comfy 2″ Therm-a-Rest self-inflating mattress.

Designed to deliver high value at a price lower than the finest bedroll in the planet, the new Cascade and Pack-Lite Bedrolls have less frills, no leather, less features and is made from less expensive imported fabrics.

We’re working hard to get the price down and deliver a product we can be proud of.

The Bare Knuckle Bedroll

We are happy to say both the Cascade and Pack-Lite bedrolls will be built by the same inmates incarcerated at EOCI that produce all Oregon Bedrolls.

Available in what ever color you want, as long as it’s black with black straps.

We will update this page with the latest release date when available.   11/5/2009

3/2/2010-  Delays for the Cascade and Pack-Lite, but they are getting better and less expensive with the latest (last) round of changes. The embroidered logo designed to save money ended up costing more than a leather patch from our trusted partner Weaver Leather.  We’ve also set on a great outside cover material we call PolyDuck.  It’s 600 denier Magnatuff Plus ™ a urethane coated polyester just the right thickness, tough and priced to help us bring the new bedrolls to market significantly less than the Original Oregon Bedrolls.

As far as color, I’m weak and will be offering the Cascade Bedroll in both Tan and Black, and let the market decide which is the best color. In the Original Oregon Bedroll, marketed exclusively to bikers, I’m seeing 60% black and 40% tan.

The Pack-Lite Bedroll is cute as a button and opens up to a tidy 20 ” x 72″. 20″ x 6′ sounds big, but it really isn’t. Rolled up it’s only about 7″ diameter by 20″ and weighs 4.5 lbs with Zip-On Drizzle Cover. The Pack-Lite’s accessory zipper starts on the opposite side from all other Oregon Bedrolls to facilitate 2 bedroll snuggling. Still don’t know how much under $200, looks promising.

If I had to guess on a delivery date for the Cascade and Pack-Lite, I’d say mid April, but there is still room for more delays. We want to produce something we can be proud of, we appreciate your understanding.  3/2/2010
