The BareKnuckle Bedroll by Oregon Bedroll is a no-frill straightforward bedroll with just what you need. A Therm-a-Rest self-inflating mattress and a sewn-on Ultrex waterproof breathable Drizzle Cover. No tent required. If you are rudely woken by morning drizzle, flip the generous flap over your head and hide.

The BareKnuckle Bedroll is a shell, if you are in Hawaii in the summer, it’s all you need. If you are in Alaska then put the best sleeping bag you can afford inside and roll the whole mess up together and go.

If you already have a Therm-a-Rest, you can purchase your bedroll without mattress and install your mattress into your new BareKnuckle Bedroll.  Large size Therm-a-Rest self inflating mattresses fit perfectly, but other brands of self-inflaters will fit if they are within a couple inches of 25″ x 77″ with a valve in the corner.

The tan Boatshrunk Duck is a great material, it’s been used on ship’s sails in the 1800’s, water bags in WWI, and now is used mostly to make Native American teepees and Oregon Bedrolls. What we’ve learned is there are many factors in how long it will take the prison to manufacture, and even though they feel they can have them done in 6 weeks, not through any fault of the prisons, we just can’t predict accurately.

6/28/2010  We are concerned about pre-order customers waiting for their Original Oregon bedrolls, so we sent out an email to all Patrick’s Pick customers so far, and we would like to extend these options to everyone who pre-orders the current Patrick’s Pick pre-order.

First we can send you your Therm-a-Rest air mattress now with a little stuff sack, and you’ll have something comfy to sleep on, then you put the bedroll together (not easy, but not hard) when your Original bedroll comes in from the prison. It’s bit like pushing a wet rope uphill, but we’ve got an instruction sheet that’s pretty helpful.

The second option is if you might need an extra bedroll we dug deep and will give $40 off of a BareKnuckle Bedroll and we’ll pay ground shipping and ship it next day as long as you don’t cancel your pre-order. This means $62 off total.

If you do need to cancel your pre-order it, we’ll take our $62 back when we do your refund. Hope that sounds fair.

Our DoubleDown Bedroll is now available and shipping next day!

The DoubleDown Bedroll is designed as a companion bedroll to our BareKnuckle Bedroll. The Double down layes on the groung next to your BareKnuckle, and 4 dowels and loops attach the two together.

The generous waterproof breathable Drizzle Cover is attached on the opposite side making a DoubleDown and a BareKnuckle sunggle friendly bedrolls.

The built in waterproof breathable Drizzle covers open together and overlap each other.

The DoubleDown Bedroll also features Therm-a-Rest’s high quality 2″ Basecamp self-inflating mattresses, open the valve, let the mattress ‘wick-up’ air like a sponge for 20 minutes, add a couple of breaths to dial in your comfort level close the valve and rest well.

When it’s time to go, you need to roll up and ‘crush’ the air out a few times. It’s a bit of effort but it’s a good trade off for the self-inflating feature.

The straps are long enough to roll up each bedroll with your bedding inside, from a simple bedroll sheet to a medium thickness sleeping bag, depending upon your conditions.
