There are quite a few of our bedrolls out there in the world, we’re very interested in feedback on the product. Good bad or ugly, or ways it could be improved are invited and appreciated.

  2. Do you use this with a sleeping bag? How cold can the weather be? george

Posted by George on Jul 3rd, 2009
  3. Oregon Bedroll – Yes, unless it’s a really warm night, you put your sleeping bag inside. The Zip-On Drizzle Cover is VERY light weight unlined nylon. We haven’t sent it to the lab yet to get a temperature rating, sorry. Thx- Patrick

  4. My bedroll arrived today, and is undergoing it’s initial break-in.. I am impressed! It is very nice, nicer than I anticipated! I’m riding down to Bend on the 17th, and will be counting on this for some good sleep before the next days ride…

  5. Just received my bedroll today, awesome quality and construction. Much better than I expected. I will be putting it to use this weekend. Thanks!

  6. While everyone else was inflating their air mattress and setting up tents, I rolled out my bedroll, let it inflate and went fishing. After a night of good sleep I awoke to my family complaining about how poorly they slept. I slept like a baby on the 2″ mattress in my bedroll. Great product! Wish I had one years ago.

  7. I took my bedroll (the thinner one) on a recent camping trip in Eastern Oregon and spent three nights sleeping on in in a small tent with my son. I did not read the instructions and break it in correctly, nor did I add a couple of breaths so it didn’t give me as much “cush” as expected. Now that I got it home and did the break in, it is really nice.

The cover quality is second to none, and it actually does roll back up into the same size as when you get it! Follow the instructions and you will be very satisfied with the bedroll.

I will be packing this thing on my old enduro for my upcoming ride of the eastern third of the Trans America Trail. Should be a good companion.

  8. Oregon Bedroll – Yes, break in and proper inflation are important. Thanks for your comment. Good luck with your ride. Thx- Patrick

  9. I also had doubts, that first night (and first use) when I laid down upon it….I thought “This is just not going to be comfortable enough” but….considering I was asleep in less than a minute (I was tired after a long day, plus the ride..) I guess it was! Plus, I awoke in the morning and felt great! Not a single ache or pain! I rolled it up, strapped it back on the bike, and did a few hundred more miles…

  10. Can a sleeping bag be rolled up inside your bedroll – are the straps long enough if carried this way?

    Posted by L. D. on Jul 29th, 2009
  11. Oregon Bedroll – Yes, you can roll a medium to thin sleeping bag inside, the straps are long enough. Anything bulkier than average won’t allow the straps to buckle without significant effort. Thx- Patrick

  12. I am back from Sturgis and I have to tell you that given the cost I had my doubts about the ability of the bedroll to protect my severly injured back during my 3000 mile round trip to sturgis and the week long stay while there. Well, “No Worries Mate” as I have heard somewhere before. I even slept on the gravel/dirt track of the Belle Fourche Truck Stop @ Hwy 85 & 212! One night I slept in the Wal Mart Parking lot on the pavement(Sprinklers kept me off the grass)next to the Harley, leaving only when it started to rain, in Bozeman Montana.
The rest of the 12 days I slept on the uneven lawn under some trees at Bobby Whittiker’s Motorcycle Campground at the intersection of the Belle Fourche and Red Rivers. Slept like a baby through high winds, rain storms, hail and hot summer nights. Best money I have spent all year!!!
Thanks to your great product and the work of the inmates @ Pendelton, I had a great time at my first Sturgis Rally.
    Dan Wineinger, Chickaloon Alaska

  13. Oregon Bedroll – Wow, that’s great to hear Dan, we appreciate your kind words and will pass them along to the inmates. Thx- Patrick

  14. Just received my shipment today for 2 bedrolls – am really impressed with the quality of your product! Can’t wait to try them out – now I need to figure out how to strap them to my Fat Boy! By the way – do you need a distributor in the Denver area? Seriously!! Your product is of the highest quality – I would love to sell them!!

  15. I’m really impressed with my bedroll! After breaking it in, I slept on it for 5 nights on a hard cement floor. I slept through out the night and woke up feeling great. Thanks for a great product!

  16. Just came back from a 2 week trip to Inuvik. My brother and I both used Oregon Bedrolls with the 2″ mattress the whole way (except the night it snowed). After multiple 950km days, lots of it on gravel/dirt/mud we were both extremely happy with our beds. Not 1 night of poor sleep! We were inside tents due to the mosquitoes but I would not hesitate to use the bedroll only in a more hospitable climate. Great product!

Although my Oregon Bedroll bedroll hasn’t seen nearly enough use yet, it did me just fine during my 10.5 days participating in the Hoka Hey motorcycle challenge. That’s 9,135 miles in 10.5 days, secondary roads and sleeping with my scoot.

It’s true I was only catching an average of 4 hours sleep each night, but I slept through rain showers, hot and cold weather, and couldn’t be happier. Apparently not so deft at bungie/packing techniques, I managed to loose both my cold weather jacket and tent somewhere in Arkansas on day 2 or 3 (hard to keep track of days). My Oregon Bedroll saved my butt. Plain n simple.

It ain’t exactly cheap but you get what you pay for. If my packing techniques should fail me again and I do loose my Oregon Bedroll, you can bet I’ll buy another.

the product and customer service rocks!

Yep I have one of the bedrolls.Just got back from a 14 day 4100 mile ride. Slept on it 11 of those days. I like it, you can adjust your covers to the temp of the night. I took a blanket for the warm nights and a down bag for the colder nights. But I had to use the down bag as a blanket cause it just got too stinking hot in the bag. I hated air mattresses in the old days cause I would wake up to get back on the mattress. Not with this one cause the mattress is in the bedroll. We had a couple of nights that the dew/ light rain happened no problem cause I had the rain fly. While my buddies were stuffing their bags I had mine on the bike and drinking coffee

I recently purchased an Oregon Bedroll…and LOVE it ! It took a bit longer than anticipated to ship due to production problems, but has been well worth the wait ! I got mine in black, DOES NOT LOOK EMBARASSING ON MY SCOOTER….Looks great ! I’m 6’3 235 lbs. and sleep in this bedroll like a baby ! Construction ? This will be the last bedroll you ever buy….for me, a good nights sleep on the ground next to my bike is well worth a few extra $$$ in the cost over others…a great investment ! Could have bought a cheaper bedroll, and would have gotten a cheaper bedroll….so, I HIGHLY recommend the Oregon bedroll to anyone wanting to buy ONCE and sleep well on it for a long time !

I have a couple of the Oregon Bedrolls. I use them with different sleeping bags depending on the temperatures I expect to encounter. I also use a Go Kot to keep me off the ground so I’ve got no complaints sleeping most anywhere. The bedroll has a waterproof cover built in, so in the mornings if its wet or dew is around, you’re dry and cozy. The Oregon bedrolls are well made and the canvas is tough. The 2″ Basecamp mattress is easy to use and makes camping much easier on my 54 year old bones. I roll mine up with the sleeping bag inside and toss it on either my luggage rack or across the back seat. My son and I ride Utah, Nevada and Colorado and we never know if we will find a room available, so the bedrolls are our security blankets and an alternate to the $150 rooms we find on holiday weekends. I’ll post some pics of my bikes with the Bedrolls on to my garage if you want to see them on in actual touring use. They are not inexpensive, but when you take the $90 bucks for the mattress out and see the quality of the bedroll, you’ll know this is a cadillac item, not a walmart knockoff. I dont mind paying for something that is well made and will last, thats why I own Harleys.

  21. My bedroll is great, I have been using it for some days now. I work in Iraq and going on mission for some time now and I take the bedroll with me all of the time. I get asked where I got the bedroll all the time no matter where I go. I tell them where I got it (from Oregon bedroll.com)
It is very hot (130 degree)

  22. I had the opportunity to use a bedroll this weekend and I was extremely impressed! I definately had my doubts when I saw just how thin it was but, when I lay down to go to sleep the first night I went out like a light! This is very rare for me since I suffer from chronic pain and find it hard to sleep anywhere! I will be retiring my expensive, double high air mattress now and getting a bedroll ASAP!

  23. Hi Terry, lifetime warrantee on the Therm-a-Rest mattress inside, 2 years on our Original Bedroll, and 1 year on the BareKnuckle/Pack-Lite.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  24. Very early last year (2010) I rode down to check out Oregon Bedrolls and Patrick took time to show me the original (other models weren’t in stock) .

He let me try them on the test drive station, the 1 1/2″, the old 2″ and the new 2″ that folds as small as the 1 1/2… I was very impressed. I had intended to order one with my tax return but the bike needed some work and with two long rides coming up I didn’t have the cash…

While on those rides I started rolling my tent, air mattress and sleeping bag all together making one BIG bedroll and still having to pack a pump to fill the air mattress. Every night and every morning I was wishing I had one of the Oregon Bedrolls.

After the first trip I was going to order one of the Pack-Lites but really wanted the Original so I waited. On the second trip I started getting a real minimalist attitude. Not even setting up my tent but folding it over my sleeping bag on top of the air mattress.

Well not this year… I ordered my Oregon Bedroll late on a Tuesday It was delivered the next Friday. Patrick’s made some nice improvements. It’s nicer than I remembered. It’s going to make my travels so much easier packing wise and comfortable nights under the stars…

I have three big trips planned this year. My packing plan is:
one saddle bag with riding gear, the other one with street clothing, a tool pack and my bedroll on top. That’s it!

    I’ll send pic’s

    Cheers
    Dale (Jake)

  27. I have received both of my Originals without the mattresses. It only took about 10 minutes to stuff and inflate the two mattresses into my bedrolls. I now have them laid out and breaking in. I’ve already purchased two down sleeping bags and stuffed them under the drizzle cover. Yeah, I’m itching to get them out and use them. I’m planning on a trip to the Redwoods in NorCal. I’ll send some pics. Thanks for the fantastic customer support and pride in your product. That does not go unnoticed by me!
